THERE is a solitude of space

THERE is a solitude of space...

THERE is a solitude of space,
A solitude of sea,
A solitude of death, but these
Society shall be,
Compared with that profounder site,
That polar privacy,
A Soul admitted to Itself:
Finite Infinity.

I don't remember their names now. But the dark kid was such a docile and innocent kid. And the fairer one was such a talkative and clever one :P......they usually spend their after school hours on the streets outside the Gurudwara at Ponta Sahib.

You Left Me

S o l i t u d e

Nikon D70

You left me, sweet, two legacies,
A legacy of love,
A Heavenly Father would content,
Had He the offer of.

You left me boundaries of pain,
Capacious as the sea,
Between eternity and time,
Your consciousness and me.

HOPE is the thing with feathers

HOPE is the thing with feathers

Nikon D70

HOPE is the thing with feathers
That perches in the soul,
And sings the tune without the words,
And never stops at all,

And sweetest in the gale is heard;
And sore must be the storm
That could abash the little bird
That kept so many warm.

I ’ve heard it in the chillest land,
And on the strangest sea;
Yet, never, in extremity,
It asked a crumb of me.

Are you nobody too?

Are you nobody too?

Canon powershot S3IS

I'm nobody! Who are you?
Are you nobody, too?
Then there's a pair of us — don't tell!
They'd banish us, you know.

How dreary to be somebody!
How public, like a frog
To tell your name the livelong day
To an admiring bog!

GOD gave a loaf to every bird

clickin me???

Nikon D70

GOD gave a loaf to every bird,
But just a crumb to me;
I dare not eat it, though I starve,
My poignant luxury
To own it, touch it, prove the feat
That made the pellet mine,
Too happy in my sparrow chance
For ampler coveting.

It might be famine all around,
I could not miss an ear,
Such plenty smiles upon my board,
My garner shows so fair.
I wonder how the rich may feel,
An Indiaman—an Earl?
I deem that I with but a crumb
Am sovereign of them all.

Hast thou no arm for me?

ALTER? When the hills do.
Falter? When the sun
Question if his glory
Be the perfect one.
Surfeit? When the daffodil
Doth of the dew:
Even as herself, O friend!
I will of you!

Emily Dickinson

I usually never put a big size picture anywhere. But somehow i found this one deserved to be exhibited on a bigger scale. The mood of this picture demands a bigger canvas innit?

Although that's not me perched up on that lone branch....but i sure loved climbing trees at one point of time in my life and i miss it a lot now. Just wish i had a fellow tree climber with me to push me up or lead me to the top branch :P. I inherited this tree climbing gene from my mother. She was this real ardent tree climber. Actually a lot of her items in her "list to steal" grew on trees.

Stolen childhood is more than a crime...

abandoned child
silently swept along
a current of callous human race
between shabby buildings
and filthy hotels
hovels of the needy
and the dispossessed oblivious
now soulless empty eyes unseeing
soiled windswept streets
unfeeling lost emotions
unheeding sirens
heralding another night
of violence and death
numb ravished soul
of stolen youth
too weary to care

Heaven? or Hell?

Jama Masjid
Old Delhi
Nikon D70

“One's condition on marijuana is always existential. One can feel the importance of each moment and how it is changing one. One feels one's being, one becomes aware of the enormous apparatus of nothingness -- the hum of a hi-fi set, the emptiness of a pointless interruption, one becomes aware of the war between each of us, how the nothingness in each of us seeks to attack the being of others, how our being in turn is attacked by the nothingness in others.”

Sorry guys for the long absence.

Loving in blue

almost one

On way to Lancedawn
Olympus C170/D425

Everyone has a color in mind associated to some particular words or emotions. Usually red goes for rage and green for jealousy, and so on. Everyone has a color for Love too...somehow my color for love is Blue. . .

Blue...is the color of a clear sky on a beautiful day. Color of its endless vastness. Its such an amazing thing how a loving heart surpasses the boundlessness of the sky. Blue is the color of the great depths of the oceans...but love goes deeper than that...love is a deeper shade of blue. Blue is the color which brings calm and peace...it soothes and relaxes.... it does to ones mind what love does to ones heart. Blue is also the color of the core of my fave flower...Blue was also a color dad use to wear a lot...

But then again....Wounds also come in a shade of blue...deep wounds. When love wounds you it is devastating...leaves a mark on the skin of your heart...the scar fades away with time but it never heals completely. Blue is the color of cold, blue is the color of ice...of frost...of numbness...of loneliness...of absence...of longing.............Blue are also the tears we shed...

Blue is the color of two extreme spheres....and in this picture they become one.

So for me "blue" completes my definition of Love.

With here and there a mighty bow,

A blue Marble
Canon Powershot S3Is

This was taken when me and Mani were on our way to Kalpa. We halted at some turn on a mountain to give our tushi's a break from all the biking, and to absorb the beautiful view of the valley and the river from the edge of the turn. While sitting there Mani as usual was up to his monkey business and found this tiny small blue marble embedded somewhere in the slope's soil. So I took some macro shots of him holding it. I still have this marble as a souvenier of that break. Of that day. Us sandwiched between a clear sun shiny sky and a breathtaking landscape of the mountains and the valley below.

An evening in Safdarjung Tomb

An evening in safdarjung tomb

Safdurjung Tomb
New Delhi, India
Nikon D70

Featured on nikonstunninggallery

Safdarjung's Tomb is an outstanding example of Mughal Architecture. It represents the last phase of Mughal style of architecture, Safdarjung's Tomb stands in the centre of beautiful garden. Built in 1753 by Nawab Shuja-ud-Daula to house the remains of his father, who was a minister in the Mughal court, the tomb is referred to as the "last flicker in the lamp of Mughal architecture." It shows how the grace and simplicity of the Mughals had been overtaken by decadence. The tomb also has a mosque.

Nawab Shuja-ud-daulah, built the memorial in the memory of his father Mirza Muqim Abul Mansur Khan, popularly known as Safdarjung (1739-54). Safdarjung was the governor of the province of Awadh under Muhammad Shah (1719-48).

On either side are beautiful pavilions known as "Moti Mahal" or the pearl palace, "Jangli Mahal" or the sylvan palace and "Badshah Pasand" or the emperor's favorite. The mausoleum built with red sandstone and buff stone is faced with marble and stands squarely in the middle of a garden. There are two graves here, one of Safdarjung and the other presumably his wife's. The square central chamber of the mausoleum is surrounded by eight rooms all around. All the apartments, except the corner ones are rectangular in shape, the corner ones being octagonal. The dome of the tomb rises from a sixteen-sided base. The tomb has been criticized for its weakness in proportions hence a lack of balance in its make-up.

One of my fave shots. Makes me feel so lazy and dreamy. Takes me back to the time when I was just a child and living on the top most floor of the building, I use to spend hours in mid summers day gazing lazily at those big birds circling the clear blue skies. Soaring and rising...Nostalgia hits me...the lightness of the summer air, the emptiness of the drying trees, the howling hot and dry winds, the parched silence of the afternoon, the eager wait for the evening, those days of slow simple dreamy doordarshan....I miss those summers.

Goodbye Milkyway

Olympus C170/D425

Goodbye Milkyway

I say goodbye to the milkyway
Its goodbye my milkyway

Earths atmosphere washing the last of my memories and emotions
My soul's cleansing, the last one in motion

Leaving all the wishes, dreams behind me
I enter the space where no mortal could bind me

And its goodbye to the milkyway
So long my friend, the milkyway

I'm floating i'm flying, and why wont i?
I just rid myself of the earthly burdens in the last of my sky

I float through the endless space of freedom
Floating towards that big bright light, my god's kingdom

And i say goodbye milkyway
Goodbye to your starry display

No failure no sucess, no pincode no address
I break free from life's decaying abortiveness

Its so light its so free, its such a high
Stars, constellations, galaxies passing by

And i bid goodbye to the milkyway
farewell my milkyway

I gain momentum, earth's faded away in the lightyears
Adrift in endless eternity, i hear the music of the spheres

Im dissolving in the nothingness of the bright light
Now one with the light,
I burn bright i burn bright....

- Wrote this at 4am in the morning few weeks ago...was high on enigma

This was a useless self portrait...so i played around on PS and ended up with this.

Renuka lake,
Himachal pradeash, India.
Nikon D70

Featured in www.nikonstunninggallery.com & www.earthshots.org
Renuka lake is a small, tranquil and not so known place around 320kms from Delhi. A little ahead of Nahan, this place is a holy place for Hindus. The lake here is said to look like a woman's figure seen from the top of the hill it surrounds. Fishing is prohibited here as a result the fish are really old and huge in size. They seem to have little fear from humans and you can see them upclose while feeding them.

Apart from the temples and the lake, there is a wildlife enclosure which is what pulls me back to this place time and again. The Lion Pride there. Around 4 to 5 lions and 10 to 12 lionesses. They have a big enclosure where they roam around freely. But usually they can be seen basking in the sun next to the fencing. This picture is from one of those moments. They were hardly a meter away, all lazy and sleepy. It was the most memorable time I have ever had at renuka.
